The Competent Crew Practical Course

This course is for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers.

By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day routines on board. The minimum course duration is five days, but it is commonly run over three weekends or three days plus a weekend.

Course content: Basic seamanship and helmsmanship

Ability after course: By the end of the course you should be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the day to day routines on board.

Minimum duration: The minimum duration is 5 days, but it is commonly run over 3 weekends or 3 days plus a weekend. If you have previously completed the Start Yachting course, the Competent Crew course can be completed in 3 or 4 days.

 

Dates

Part 1 - Friday 17th November to Sunday 19th November

Part 2 - Saturday 9th December to Sunday 10th December

Cost: Part one + Part two = £400 Part one only = £225 Part two only = £175

Inclusive of on-board food, accommodation and mooring fees.
